MONDAY, 12TH JUNE, 2017 – NAGASAKI, JAPAN

Here we are again in the pretty port of Nagasaki, with lovely views of hundreds of homes rising up the hillside, and sailing boats and a ferry port just behind us (we are 4 cabins from the aft of the ship).  Port side is also an advantage when we dock, as it usually is just that, and immigration fortunately was a breeze today.

Having done a ship's tour of the Peace Memorial Park with the Statue of Peace, the Atomic Bomb Museum and Mt. Inasa just a few years ago, we have decided to amble around the port itself today and the weather is perfect.

Somehow we 'stumbled' upon a huge mall, so in we went to investigate.  Very different to what we are used to as everything is 'open plan' – all the different shops display their wares, without walls between or lock up doors.   We quickly found one of my favourite shops, Uniglo, and made a couple of purchases.

Feeling a bit peckish we ventured into the food hall, beside men's suits, and the delimma being 'that dish looks good but what is it?'  Fortunately a friend from the ship helped us out and we chose good – a big plate of noodles, beef and whatever?  We were very impressed with a hand washing sink in the middle of the food court, with soap, towels and also a microwave.

The supermarket was massive and all we wanted was a plastic bottle of honey but no one spoke English, so that was that!   They did have a liquor section and plenty of our faithful 'Yellow Tail' - a good purchase!!

Back to the ship for lunch and then a delightful walk up to Glover Gardens, with little souvenir shops all the way up the hill – very pretty with fabulous views.

Another happy sail away with the mob and it's off to Osaka, just one sea day away.
